While searching for Black candidates running for Congress in 2022, I came across a post titled Black Candidates Will Help Democrats Win These 4 Swing Senate Seats in 2022 on the site Democracy in Color. The article is a short update about four candidates, current Senator Raphael Warnock in Georgia, Representative Val Demings running in Florida, Cheri Beasley running in my home state of North Carolina, and a new face for me, Mandela Barnes in Wisconson. It’s a great post because it’s to the point and outlines the importance of each race.
I share this with you because I think this is an excellent site with thoughtful insights. Democracy in Color’s founder is Steve Phillips. Among many things, he is an author, civil rights lawyer, columnist, and senior fellow at the Center for American Progress. The site promotes itself as “… a political media organization focused on political strategy and analysis at the intersection of race and politics.”
This site is an outstanding source of information that BIPOC and other people interested in moving our country in a positive direction.
